The Middle East is becoming increasingly vulnerable to web virus threats as the number of Internet users grows, according to a web security expert. David Perry, global director of education at Trend Micro, said Botnets are responsible for more than 80% of the world's spam and generate click fraud in excess of $1bn a year. He also noted that the Middle East is the fastest growing region globally but it has a low penetration rate of 17.4 per cent, reported Gulf News.
