Aimed at educating the students on the importance of safety in LPG and at providing them with an overview of the industry, the visit to the EMGAS plant in Jebel Ali proved to be immensely beneficial to the students.

As part of the visit, Emirates Gas officials --- Marketing Executive Shafiqa Abdullah Mohammed, Operations Manager S.B. Muthazhahan and Operations Foreman Ali Al Hammadi took the students on a tour of the plant and briefed them on the various processes and facilities.

Later, a presentation was conducted to give the students a clear idea about LPG, cylinders, different types of valves, filling and maintenance, gas leakage recognition and detection, safe operating procedures, and emergency responses.

Commenting on the visit, Mr. Hesham Ali Mustafa, General Manager of Emirates Gas, said, "At EMGAS, we believe in giving back to the community that we operate in.

Introducing students to the industry and providing them with an overview on the importance of safety is vital to our role as a leading organisation.

We hope more schools include Emirates Gas in their field trip plans as it would help the younger generation with their awareness on LPG safety."

One of the students, Israa Khaleel, said that the field trip provided her with a lot of valuable information on LPG. "More importantly, it taught me how to test a cylinder if a gas leakage is suspected", she said.
