Tanmia facilitates career opportunities for UAE nationals in the banking and finance sector

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority, has announced that it is co-organizing and participating in the 10th National Career Exhibition for Banking and Financial Sector that began yesterday at the Expo Centre Sharjah, under the patronage of Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies. The three-day exhibition was opened by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah.

Tanmia's participation in the event is part of an intensified campaign to support the UAE's Emiratisation program by providing nationals a full range of employment opportunities. The National Career Exhibition aims to help the country's national youth explore and identify appropriate career opportunities according to their qualifications and skills. The event will particularly benefit the banking and financial sector, which is one of the UAE's fastest growing and most lucrative sector.

'Tanmia is strongly committed to providing nationals ample opportunities to grow professionally and contribute significantly to the country's economic development. We will continue to initiate and support activities that create a link between leading firms and the national labour market,'



said Feddah Lootah, Acting General Manager, Tanmia.

'Through our participation in the National Career Exhibition, Tanmia seeks to spot National graduates and assess their professional competency and capacity according to the varying human resource needs of our partner organizations, particularly in the banking and finance sector. We will then facilitate suitable training programs or employment for various job prospects that will be identified during the event,' added Lootah.

The National Career Exhibition primarily aims to help banking and finance firms in the UAE achieve their Emiratisation targets, and support several UAE national graduates fulfil their goals of pursuing illustrious careers in the banking and finance sector. As it has done in previous editions, the event has generated enthusiastic response from thousands of young and ambitious UAE nationals.

About Tanmia:

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority in the UAE, was established by a Presidential decree in November 1999, to address the imbalance in the labour market, due to excessive dependence on expatriate workforce. Tanmia is engaged in a coordinating role, between national job seekers and employers in the private and government sectors, to facilitate increased entry of nationals in the labour market. The responsibilities that rest with the Authority are: to set up the overall policy of the Authority and supervise its implementation, conduct sustained operational and administrative labour market studies and analysis, provide career counseling and guidance to the national work force, follow-up and evaluate employment of nationals in public and private sectors, support small investment enterprises through the establishment of self-employment projects for national human resources and develop programmes for training and qualifying nationals seeking employment, in conformity with the labour market needs.
