'Qatar tourism is increasing, making it a key market for Dollar Thrifty. There is a growing demand for rental cars and Dollar Thrifty is successfully meeting this demand by opening a new location. No other rental agency can offer the rates we offer, the sheer range of models, or the exemplary customer service'.
By 2010, Qatar aims to increase the number of tourists who visit the emirate to 1.5 million visitors per year, while at the same time lengthening the average stay from 1.5 to four days.
Investing $5.5bn into the New Doha International Airport is expected to contribute heavily towards achieving this goal. The final phase of construction will be finished by 2015, when NDIA will be able to handle 50 million passengers, 320,000 planes and 2 million tons of cargo a year.
The new Dollar Thrifty office will be located on Airport Road, a kilometre away from the International Airport, and accessible to all traffic.
This will cater to the anticipated increase in travellers. The rental fleet will consist of various types of saloon cars, pick-up trucks, mini-vans and buses, all of which are covered by comprehensive insurance.
'Dollar Thrifty, a premier value player in the car rental industry, will open with an initial fleet of 100 wide ranges vehicles from Japanese, European and American manufacturers in the heart of Doha. Dollar Thrifty is known for offering quality clean cars through superior service,' notes Eltibi.
Internet reservations will play a major part in the service operation, making car rental more convenient for consumers. Also, Dollar Thrifty will offer competitive rental rates as well as chauffer services to meet the demands of customers.
In addition, plans to open a second Thrifty car rental counter at the Doha International airport is expected to materialize in 2009.
