Sharjah Investment Centre sizzles at Qatar International Real Estate & Investment Exhibition
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, March 05 - 2008 at 14:19
- PRESS RELEASE
Leading multi- use project, Sharjah Investment Centre, took part in the 2008 Qatar International Real Estate & Investment Exhibition (Q-REX), which took place at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre in Doha from 3 to 6 March.
Snasco Chairman, Mr. Saleh Nasser Al Sorayai, said about the firm's participation in the exhibition, "We were particularly keen to come to this exhibition, as the UAE shares a very healthy relationship with Qatar, where the current real estate market is full of promise. Participating in Q-REX offered us the opportunity not only to showcase what we have to offer, but also to explore possibilities in the Qatari market."
Studies show that Qatari investments in foreign markets amount to around QR145bn among 40 Arab, GCC and other foreign countries, with investments making up a substantial portion of that total in UAE.
Qatar is currently one the fastest growing countries in the GCC, at a rate of 9.9%, and is the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas.
The government of Qatar has allocated approximately QR 23bn for infrastructure development, and has plans to invest over $130bn more in the next five years.
Other issues being addressed by the Qatari government are the shortage of residential property and high inflation.
