Building on this philosophy, Abdali launched its first full-fledged program, RU'YATAK, the social responsibility arm which seeks to empower Jordanian youth from all ages and backgrounds.
The program will coordinate all the activities sponsored by Abdali and finally unite them under one roof, with the theme 'Let your vision come to life'. In doing so, Abdali will be taking on an active developer's role, enabling young men and women from all walks of life to make a real change in Jordanian society and fulfill their vision through different artistic and educational means.
The first component to be endorsed by Ru'yatak will be Save the Children's NAJAH Program, a youth training and employability program which will reach out to underprivileged Jordanian youth in Al Jiza.
In full support of the National Agenda, the goal of the NAJAH program is to increase the employability of Jordanian youth aged 18-24; together Save the Children and Abdali will bring this program to young people living in Al Jiza.
By partnering with Save the Children, an NGO that has promoted social development since 1985 in Jordan, Abdali will help youth who are known to have the highest rates of unemployment and the lowest monthly incomes; specifically, in the Al Jiza District, one of the identified poverty pockets in the Greater Amman area, 35 km to the south of Amman.
The initiative will focus on:
- underprivileged youth who have minimal or no access to further education and training opportunities
- women and graduates from lower-income backgrounds
Together, Save the Children and Abdali will begin to address two of the most fundamental challenged facing these youth today; the inability to find work amid the country's economic disparity and the lack of skills and knowledge to enter and remain in the labor market.
Jamal Itani, Chief Executive Officer of Abdali Psc commented: We hold great faith in the Jordanian youth. We understand their situation, and highly believe in their potential; that is why we invest great efforts in finding new opportunities for the young people to achieve their ambitions and complete their goals. Today, we can truly promise them a bright future full of opportunities. They are not just the future, they are today; and we offer them in the present a reliable vision to shape a better tomorrow that will be up to their expectations.
Ru'yatak is another strategic investment by Abdali, said Dennis Walto, Country Director for Save the Children in Jordan. By equipping each of these young men and women with the tools for success, we can see what development really looks like. Abdali will pave the way for them to pursue their ambitions and let their vision come to life.
RU'YATAK: The new initiative from Abdali that nurtures the aspirations of Jordanian youth
Abdali's success as a project has always depended on its relation to the greater community: the company has made it a priority to address the needs of Amman and take into consideration the social and environmental aspects of its development.
