Water Buses ready for opening of Dubai International Boat Show 2008

Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) 2008 has adopted an on-water traffic solution for the thousands of visitors expected at the event, opening on 11th March.

Organiser Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has arranged a large, free parking facility between the show and the area next to the Habtoor Grand Hotel, with free RTA water buses, taxi boats and shuttle buses going to and from the exhibition, running from 1pm-11pm over the five-day event.

The Dubai International Boat Show is open daily from 3pm to 9.30pm and visitors are encouraged to come early and enjoy the relaxing, traffic free journey on water to the show.

'Dubai international Boat Show has worked together with the RTA, Dubai Police and exhibitors to produce an innovative parking solution for the show given the high number of visitors expected. This year water buses, taxi boats, shuttle buses and increased parking, all free of charge, will provide easier, more convenient access to the show,' said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.

Taking place from the 11 - 15 March at the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) - Mina Sehyai the event will showcase the largest ever display of boats, marine supplies and services in the Middle East, making it one of the top shows in the world.

DIBS will be the platform for exclusive world premier launches from Al Harbe Marine, AS Marine and Gulf Craft, plus regional premiers from leading names including Azimut, Cigarette, Doral, Fairline, Ferretti, Formula, Maxum, and Sunseeker.

A total of 800 companies will be participating from 48 countries with 158 luxury power and sailing boats on the water, in addition to the inaugural DIBS Fashion show, bringing together the leading names presenting the latest marine clothing and accessories.

The Dubai International Boat Show 2008 will take at Dubai International Marine Club - Mina Seyahi from 11-15 March 2008. Free visitor parking and shuttle service to the event is available next to the Habtoor Grand. DIBS is open to trade visitors and general public, from 3pm - 9.30pm daily. Visitors without an invitation must pay an entrance fee. Children under 12 will be admitted free and must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Access to the Marine Display Area may be restricted at certain times.
