The launch of the 7th Emirates Film Competition on 27 February in Abu Dhabi

The 7th Emirate Film Competition, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage at the Cultural Foundation - Abu Dhabi, will be launched on 27 February.

A press conference will be held on Tuesday 26 February to announce the various activities of the competition.

The official competition comprises public, gulf and students films which range from short films to documentaries, animation and publicity. This edition has increased the number of categories, the monetary value of the awards and added new category of script writing to enhance film production.

In addition to all this five scholarships to Abu Dhabi Film Academy will be given to winners and three filmmakers will be sent to Cannes Film Festival in May.

The theme of this edition is science fiction. The international participation will include films from England, Poland, India, Iran, Egypt and Syria.
