Black makes impact as Mille Rostock Collection hits runway at Dubai Fashion Week
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, March 12 - 2008 at 14:26
- PRESS RELEASE
Mille Rostock, the designer behind the brand, will return by popular request to Dubai Fashion Week on 20 March 7pm at Emirates Towers to showcase her Autumn/Winter 08/09 collection.
With an urban, modern and timeless look this collection has a distinctly international appeal with the design focusing on simplicity, sophisticated clean lines and in the manipulation of fabric. It includes striking geometric shapes with the emphasis on the quality of fabric, cut and volume. T
he silhouette is centred on the form of the female body with the garments elegantly highlighting the waistline or bell shape. The overall effect is a beautiful contrast of soft curvaceous cutting and sharply angular dimension.
Mille Rostock explains, "I think women should show their femininity and be proud of their shape. When you are wearing a beautiful suit, dress or any outfit with a beautiful cut in a beautiful fabric, you don't need to add anything more. The elegance speaks for itself."
The muted colour palette is dominated by black or grey with a hint of white allowing the focus to fall on the shapes which are both sculpted and draped. Skirts and dropped waist dresses with sophisticated volume mixed with tailored jackets where no seams or buttons are visible is what characterizes this latest collection.
The Mille Rostock label has grown significantly over the past year, in terms of business both worldwide and in Dubai and the ability to showcase her collections at Dubai Fashion Week has played an important role in the strengthening of the brand.
