- Lebanon: Thursday, March 13 - 2008 at 14:56
- PRESS RELEASE
Embraer and Lebanese M1 Travel Ltd. confirmed options on three EMBRAER 190 jets. The deal, valued at $112.5m, at list price, completes the original order for five aircraft, announced in February 2007. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2009.
M1 Travel retains options for two more aircraft, for either the same model or the larger EMBRAER 195, depending on market demand. The airline's EMBRAER 190s will be configured in a 100-seat layout. In addition, the aircraft will be equipped with a state-of-the-art In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system with Live TV, and will have steep approach functionality, which allows the aircraft to be operated at London City Airport.
"In confirming this new order, we are able to progress our fleet expansion apace," said Maher Mikati, Chairman of M1 Travel Ltd. "The Embraer 190 is a unique aircraft, combining passenger comfort and highly attractive economics - - our secret weapon in a very competitive market."
