SAHARA's participation was at the Sharjah stand, which won the award for Best Exhibitor among Arab delegations participating at ITB2008.

This participation is in line with SAHARA's strategic plan for global expansion, and builds on the foundation of the resounding success the group has achieved on the local and regional levels via a network of branches and agents that span the globe.

Commenting on the occasion, Mariam Keblawi, General Manager PR, said: "International Tourism Bourse 2008 is a pre-eminent gathering of decision makers in the travel and tourism industry across the region and all over the world, making it one of the most significant events in the tourism sector. It represents a valuable opportunity for SAHARA to communicate directly with the international tourism community to exchange experiences and discuss ways for mutual cooperation, as well as to stay abreast with the latest trends and developments in the tourism sector."

"This event presented a great opportunity for SAHARA as it attracted extensive media coverage, especially European media, and we have benefited from the great exposure the exhibition provided. Our participation in the ITB2008 was a tremendous success, as the event is in line with our strategic plan, which aims to broaden our international network of alliances to provide quality media and marketing services to larger markets," Keblawi added.

ITB is the world's most prestigious meeting place for key travel and tourism players, and serves as a focal point for the world's tourism and business sectors, attracting more than 10 000 exhibitors annually, 30% of whom are foreigners.
