Sheraton Dubai Creek's chefs shine at the Gulfood Salon Culinary 2008

On this occasion, Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers participated once again by sending 5 of its associates.

The event saw more than 500 young chefs competing in all sorts of cooking activities (live cooking demonstration, cake decoration, ice and vegetable carving, etc), demonstrating their talent and creativity in front of thousands of visitors.

Saman Sagara - chef de partie at the Pastry kitchen, Richard Nai Shing Shu, chef de partie at Vivaldi's kitchen, Laksiri Hemantha, commis 1 from Ashiana's restaurant and Richard Javinar, the hotel's kitchen artist received multiple awards.

The Sheraton Dubai Creek is proud to announce that: Saman won 3 medals; 2 Silvers Medal in the "Practical cake Decoration" and in the "Five Plates of Dessert".

And a Bronze Medal for the "Pastry Showpiece's" category. Whilst Richard Nai Shing Shu won the "Practical Cookery - Australian Beef". Also, Laksiri Hemantha won the Bronze Medal for "Five Plates of Dessert" display.

Richard Javinar won the Merit Diploma in "Chocolate carving showpiece".

"It's a wonderful experience for us and to have won these Medals despite the tough competition. Dubai has many great culinary talents and we feel that this type of competition serves as a great platform for us and our chefs to showcase their culinary skills and creativity. We will definitely participate again next year!" said the hotel's Executive Chef, Fabien Martinez when asked to comment about his teams' accomplishments.
