Education pillar of Saudi society says King

In his address to the Shoura Council yesterday, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia said that education was the 'pillar' of any scientific achievement and genuine development of a nation. Opening the fourth annual session of the current Shoura Council, the king told the 150 members of the council, as well as princes, ministers, government officials that he hoped the project to develop general education would result in better skilled Saudi students in science and technology, reported Arab News. With new universities under construction, higher education was now available in all regions of the country, he said.
