Agility increases presence in Middle East healthcare sector

Agility, the leading global logistics provider, has expanded its role in regional healthcare with a $23.2m deal to provide logistics services for the provision of materials to the Al-Khafji Joint Operation (KJO) Hospital.

Al-Khafji is a Saudi city on the border between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. KJO Hospital serves company employees along with their eligible dependents. The local Saudi and Kuwait population also receive treatment at KJO Hospital when referred by the Ministry of health for specialized treatments.

Under a five-year partnership deal with healthcare supplier Bader Sultan & Brothers Co., Agility will deliver over three thousand (3,000) items to the hospital. These will include pharmaceuticals, laboratory reagents, medical consumables and minor instruments.

In addition, Agility will be responsible for operating the hospital's bulk store, substores, and pharmacies and corresponding delivery and distribution of supplies using Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).

Elias Monem, Agility CEO, Middle East and Africa, said the new contract is a part of the company's efforts to expand its presence in the Middle East healthcare sector, a move he believes will have positive effects on the regional industry.
