PRO TECHnology Saudi Arabia implements state-of-the art data back-up solution for Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation

In line with its aims to leverage the booming Saudi Arabian storage market, the leading IT solutions provider is set to bring its state-of-the-art data support systems to more high profile customers, thereby strengthening its presence in the regional business sector.

Following a thorough assessment of the data storage system being used by APICORP prior to the installation, PRO TECHnology Saudi Arabia proposed a solution consisting of Storageflex - Backup Disk, Qualstar Tape Library and Symantec-Veritas NetBackup 6.0 for Windows.

This will enable APICORP to operate with the benefit of a robust 'disk-to-disk-to-tape' solution within its KSA branch while creating a tape library for disaster use in the Bahrain branch, which will provide the necessary data to rebuild the crashed servers over a short period of time.

Eliminating the difficulties presented by managing a number of tapes solution and applications, PRO TECHnology Saudi Arabia has installed Symantec-Veritas NetBackup 6.0 for Windows.

This software can effectively manage the expanded data storage capacity of Storageflex - Backup Disk, which will accommodate daily, weekly and monthly backup activities, and then store the collated data within the secure Qualstar Tape Library.
