The Middle East and North Africa region is predicted to spend $40.5bn on new technology this year, according to a report by analysts IDC. The Gulf states alone are expected to spend $9.1bn on IT. In the Mena region the money is likely to be invested in new initiatives rather than updating existing systems, IDC said.
