The event will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Riyadh from March 17 to 19.

Across the region, healthcare providers are increasingly faced with the challenges of dealing with growing populations, rising operational costs, and the need to increase quality of care while decreasing medical errors.

GE Healthcare's investments have helped drive healthcare IT advancements in the Middle East, contributing to the development of such areas as informatics and genomic research in the region while also allowing for faster, more effective treatments in everything from cardiology to radiology to ophthalmology.

"We are seeing a growing business in the areas of enterprise and imaging solutions and are building a strong local team to better support, implement and service our customers. By setting up a Centricity Enterprise regional headquarters in Dubai, we strongly underline our commitment, engagement and continued investment to our Middle East customers," said Abdul Rahman Qasim, Sales Manager for GE Healthcare's Integrated IT Solutions (IITS) business, Middle East region.

The official sponsor of the Saudi e-Health Conference, GE Healthcare will use the event to showcase its Centricity solutions, along with the latest advances in Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), as well as Clinical Information Systems (CIS), Cardiology clinical tools and other IT innovations.

The new GE solutions can help promote seamless connectivity across hospital departments, care teams and facilities while creating a streamlined work environment.

The integrated systems cover administration to clinical workflow, billing and revenue phases. In the form of Centricity PACS, GE Healthcare can help hospitals provide the right information, to the right medical professionals at the right time.

GE Healthcare's IT solutions have a proven track record in the Middle East, with the company executing complex projects with minimal disruption. "We deliver tools with clinical depth. That is the reason why more than 40 hospitals in the Middle East region have chosen our Centricity solutions," said Qasim. "Most of our installations go live within a six-month timeframe or less, and run without problems after the go-live date. GE's state-of-the-art IT solutions enable doctors with the tools they need in order to predict, diagnose and treat diseases earlier."

GE Healthcare's ongoing 'Early Health' initiative, Qasim added, uses the latest technologies to improve diagnostics tools, placing emphasis on detection and earlier treatment.

With GE's IT solutions, he said, healthcare professionals ranging from radiologists to eye care specialists are able to extract clinically relevant information from complex data sets at the touch of a button.

This year's Saudi e-Health Conference, themed 'Towards National e-Health,' will be attended by more than 500 specialists from across the region.

The conference has expanded the range of learning sessions and case studies led by international experts and specialists, and will also feature an exhibition showcasing the latest advances in e-Health technologies, infrastructures and applications.
