The Million's Poet TV show and MEIFF participate in Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2008

The Millon's Poet TV show and the Middle East International Film Festival (MEIFF) are being exhibited at the book fair.

The Million's Poet stand can be found in Exhibition Hall 4C at the Poetry Academy and information about the Nabati poetry program and merchandise for purchase are available by visiting the booth.

Million's Poet show, now in its second season, has received an outstanding amount of international attention highlighting Abu Dhabi's efforts to secure itself as the cultural hub of the Gulf region.

The show, a knockout competition TV format aired live on Abu Dhabi TV, weekly, was designed to fuse modern mediums of television programming with the age-old traditions of the Gulf region to revitalize the Nabati form of Arabic poetry among the youth of the region, proving massively successful and succeeding in doing just that.

The MEIFF booth can be found in the main Atrium, next to the New York Film Academy and the Kitab Sofa. MEIFF held its inaugural event at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi, in October last year and will host its second festival this year with extended dates from October 10-19. MEIFF's aim is to promote the arts and sciences of cinema and encourage intercultural dialogue as well as focusing on the financing side of film.

This year's book fair is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The fair has grown extensively in size from last year's event hosting more than 430 exhibitors from 40 countries around the world including, for the first time, publishers from India and China.
