IBQ puts education to the top of its agenda

The International Bank of Qatar announced at the CNA-Q career fair its intention to increase internship and training opportunities for Qatari students with the intention to attract, develop and retain young talent.

IBQ Deputy General Manager for Retail & Corporate Communication Peter Wilkes announced during his speech at the College of North Atlantic career fair ribbon cutting ceremony, which IBQ supported as a Platinum Sponsor, that Leadership programs, internal training, and branding workshops are activities which IBQ has carried out over the last year to further improve the skills of its employees, keep them motivated, hence building positive relationships with them. To support the nationalization drive of the country, IBQ is now reaching out to the future leaders' of tomorrow, offering internships to Qatari students from top universities and colleges in Qatar.

"CNA-Q delivers bright, enthusiastic young talent to a marketplace that is hungry for their input and confidence. That achievement is why we felt the need and desire to support CNA-Q's 4th Annual Career Fair," said IBQ DGM Retail & Corporate Communication Peter Wilkes.

To show its commitment to students and the Qatarisation drive, IBQ set up a booth at the College of North Atlantic during the career fair. The bank's Head of Human Resources Sami Jabbour, was available to provide information and answer questions from eager students regarding IBQ's career development program for Qataris and other internship opportunities.

"As the bank keeps growing human resources management becomes increasingly important, in order for us to develop, retain and manage our staff. It is imperative that we are present at leading universities and colleges to talk to students about their opportunities with the Bank and identify candidates that qualify to become the future financiers. At IBQ we realize the significance of an educate youth segment and hence, we are putting education on top of our agenda," said Sami Jabbour, Head of Human Resources at IBQ.

IBQ continues to show its dedication to education, as it continues to equip university students with much needed information and employment opportunities. This has ensured that Qatar's brightest students always find a place at Qatar's oldest and most experienced bank - IBQ.
