The global holding group will be represented by a number of its flagship companies at the fair. Dubai World has been a strong supporter of the annual event in the past years as well.

The participation is aimed at further strengthening the role of the national workforce in Dubai World's expanding business activities at the local and global levels. The company's growth has led to the creation of numerous additional jobs.

Farid Mohammed Ahmed, the Secretary General of Dubai World, said that there is an increasing need for young UAE nationals as employees to cope with the phenomenal growth of Dubai World's business and investments in the UAE and around the world.

He added: "Dubai World is giving priority to investing in human resources in general, and national human resources in particular, because they are the true wealth we can always rely on. The UAE Careers fair is the best place to meet university graduates and students and discuss with them the job opportunities available in our companies and find appropriate positions for them, based on their qualifications."

Mr. Farid stressed that in order to develop and encourage national human resources, Dubai World is keenly pursuing the objectives and policies followed by the Dubai Government. The aim is to enhance the role of UAE nationals in the job market so that they become the ultimate choice in key sectors. This is achieved by educating them, honing their skills and arming them with the required qualifications to adapt to rapid changes in the economy. The youth must be made more aware of their role in the development of Dubai.

"Dubai World has successfully kept pace with the phenomenal development in Dubai through local and international investments, which has also led to a huge increase in the number of its employees. This makes it necessary to increasingly rely on national human resources and develop the appropriate training programmes to achieve the results."

Alia Suleiman, the General Manager of World View Communications, the media arm of Dubai World, which is overseeing the Dubai World stand at the fair, said that the continued participation in this annual event "reflects the tremendous growth of Dubai World companies and its increasing need for qualified national human resources."

She pointed out that the stand will cover a total area of 1200 sq. metres on two floors - the first 1050 sq metres, and the second 150 sq. m. The stand will be equipped with all the facilities to provide the right ambience for visitors. It will have 55 laptops, all with access to the Internet to create a paperless environment.

Dubai World's stand this year will be distinguished as it has always been, and will include its various companies such as Nakheel, Istithmar, Limitless, DP World, Dubai Maritime City, Drydocks World, Leisure Corp, Dubai Multi Commodities Center, Economic Zones World and Trakhees. Senior mangers and officials as well as heads of Human Resource will be present to discuss employment opportunities with the visitors.

Dubai World is seeking to recruit both male and female UAE nationals, and is encouraging students to specialise in fields that suit the company's operations and requirements.
