Microsoft unleashes next-generation enterprise products in Bahrain

Microsoft Gulf announced the launch of its next generation of infrastructure and application platform products, including Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 in Bahrain.

The launch, that is part of the company's six-city roadshow unveiled Microsoft's next-generation products and demonstrated their world-class features and functionality to customers and partners in the region.

Over 500 technology professionals, developers and partners were present at the event.

The launch represents a major milestone to help customers on the road to Dynamic IT, Microsoft's initiative to help customers optimize their people, processes and technology and in turn position IT as a strategic asset for their business.

These new enterprise products help customers more efficiently and securely manage their entire infrastructure and move to a virtualized environment.

The theme of the events, "Heroes Happen Here," highlights the outstanding work that IT professionals, developers and partners do every day to create solutions and cutting-edge applications that keep global commerce and industry running.

In Bahrain to announce Microsoft's largest enterprise launch yet, Joseph Landes, Launch Manager and the Director of Marketing, Windows Server Business Group, Microsoft Corp. said,

"The launch represents Microsoft's long-standing commitment to our customers and partners in Bahrain. Microsoft's new suite of enterprise products helps improve service levels at a lower cost and operate a flexible platform to meet changing business demands".


Commenting on the launch, Badei Esbai, Country Manager, Microsoft Bahrain said, "This next-generation technology means a great deal to our enterprise customers with organisations in Bahrain now viewing IT infrastructure as a strategic asset. The seminar also detailed Microsoft's strategy for client and server virtualization which aims to provide the best value in the industry with a complete set of virtualization solutions from the desktop to the datacenter.

Windows Server 2008 is Microsoft's most advanced server operating system till date and is built with enhanced virtualization capabilities.

The system is designed to increase the reliability and flexibility of an organization's server infrastructure while helping save time, reduce costs and provide a solid, dependable foundation for business.

Visual Studio 2008 delivers on Microsoft's vision of enabling developers and development teams to rapidly create connected applications with compelling user experiences for Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office system, mobile devices and the Web.

With this release, Microsoft is taking a leap forward on its promise to enable developers to harness this next wave of innovation.

The keynote also focused on SQL Server 2008 and its business intelligence reporting tools that can be used in conjunction with a range of Microsoft products to build interactive, real-time interfaces.

SQL Server 2008 provides a trusted, productive, and intelligent data platform that enables organisations to run the most demanding mission critical applications while reducing time and cost of development.

Technology professionals and developers around the world are already using Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and test versions of SQL Server 2008 to implement more secure platforms and Web applications while reducing costs and speeding development.
