The students, part of a group of 23 students aged 14 to 16 and 6 teachers, travelled to Tanzania to deliver goods to students in poor locations and help with renovation of classroom facilities.

During the visit the students took part in the renovation of three classrooms and in making school desks.

Batelco's donation also helped to purchase food, stationery items, sports goods, books and school bags, which the Kanoo School students delivered to the Tanzanian students.

A.Rahman Kanoo School Public Relations Manager Naseema Janahi reported that the trip was very successful and that the young students showed a high level of maturity in helping those less fortunate than themselves.

"Such programmes show the world that Bahrain's students are capable of assisting in the educational process in underdeveloped and poor nations," said Batelco Corporate Affairs General Manager Ahmed Al Janahi.
