According to Dominick Keenaghan, President of show organizers INSIGHTS, 'Contact Centre Outsourcing and the related field of Business Process Outsourcing is witnessing a dramatic growth spurt at present.
One key driver is the support being provided by government initiatives in places such as Egypt and Jordan.
As a result, these countries are competing effectively against the likes of India and South Africa for international Outsourcing contracts.
The associated side benefit of the creation of tens of thousands of jobs for nationals in these countries is highly significant.
Unfortunately, no similar plans have emerged in the GCC states where high international calling charges and the soaring costs of real estate have stymied the establishment of such job creating and economy-expanding companies.
However, the growth of business markets in the GCC itself and a greater understanding of Outsourcing concepts is generating 'intra-country' demand for outsourcing services; and a plethora of new companies are springing up to satisfy these opportunities.'
The MECC '08 event will witness the coming together of the main players in regional contact centre outsourcing.
These include both established Outsource Service Providers (OSPs) and new market entrants. As such it will be the first Middle East event where learning, networking, market development, and prospecting will take place simultaneously to help drive business development.
As part of the push, INSIGHTS is organizing a special one day workshop on Contact Centre Outsourcing on March 24 and special, free 'Everybody Is Outsourcing, Why Aren't You?' educational sessions running during the MECC 08 Exhibition on March 25 & 26 to help visitors get up to speed on the main concepts and benefits.
The MECC 08 Exhibition will be playing host to a large contingent of these outsourcers showcasing their services and solutions and a number of new companies are using the MECC 08 show to launch themselves.
Amongst these are the MECC 08 Premium Sponsor, SolexPLUS, who have partnered with the internationally renowned Teletech to supplement the latter's existing 77 call centre sites around the world.
With plans for thousands of seats on tap over the few months, SolexPLUS look set to become one of the biggest OSPs (Outsource Service Provider) in the region in a very short period of time.
