Director General Majlis Program organises seminar on development of human resources strategy in Dubai Government
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, February 28 - 2008 at 13:15
- PRESS RELEASE
Director General (DG) Majlis Program, one of MBRPLD initiatives designed to develop future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of the UAE, has hosted a series of discussion panels on the ambitious human resources strategy of Dubai Government.
The DG Majlis Program operates in line with the vision and directions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; the initiator of the MBRPLD initiative who has underscored the critical importance of a highly competent national professional workforce in the country's socio-economic development.
General Managers of Dubai Governmental Authorities and Departments participated in this first-of-its-kind training program, and H.E. Ahmand Bin Bayat, Dubai Executive Council General Secretary inaugurated the program declaring: "The development of the national human capital has been specifically underscored in the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 and UAE Government Strategy, outlined last year by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed.
H.E. Ahmad Bin Bayat clarified: "The DG Majlis Program supports this key provision by offering a high-level counselling and networking platform to persons who hold key public positions and are largely responsible for the overall development of the local and federal governments."
The DG Majlis Program enables leaders to interact directly with each other in an informal setting to discuss the strategic issues that need consideration before taking any decision. The program also urges leaders to enhance their abilities and competencies at the personal and career levels.
Adel Al Shared, Manager of MBRPLD, commented: "Leadership issues in government constantly evolve because of the rapid rate of progress the country is achieving. This naturally requires government officials, particularly those occupying top-tier positions, to be up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations as well as the current best practices. The DG Majlis Program has been designed to address this pressing need and sustain the professional development of our government executives."
"The DG Majlis Program has two primary components: Counselling and Dialogue. Counselling provides each participant with a counsellor who acts as a supporter to discuss various important strategic issues and challenges Director Generals face in the course of their work at both personal and professional levels. The various dialogue sessions discuss strategic issues and challenges related to Dubai's strategic plans, which are presented via the Secretary General of the Executive Council, and in the presence of international keynote speakers," added Adel Al Shared.
MBRPLD is a comprehensive professional development program that addresses the needs of prospective and incumbent government officials. Aside from the DG Majlis Program, MBRPLD also offers the Elite and Young Leaders programs, which provide long-term training modules for promising young nationals with proven academic excellence and strong leadership potential.
