The addition of new features and enhanced functionality will give customers greater convenience and help them in their efforts to use digital certificates to secure their communication and access to company resources.
As part of the revamp, Etisalat has increased the validity of its digital certificates to two years.
Etisalat has also introduced a new type of digital certificate called Wildcard Certificate which allows businesses to conveniently secure multiple sub domains on one domain on the same server.
Customers can now conveniently order digital certificates online and pay through multiple payment methods such as credit cards, debit cards and direct payment.
An authorised business company employee can now conveniently order multiple certificates for hundreds of employees through the new process. Etisalat has also introduced the use of digital certificates through smartcards and USB tokens.
According to Abdulla Hashim, VP, Marketing, Enterprise Solutions, Etisalat, 'We've created a very convenient and efficient process for customers to order digital certificates along with alternatives using smartcards and USB tokens to enable organisations to secure email as well as access to resources when they are on the move'.
Etisalat is a regional leader in the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) domain and runs the region's first commercial Certificate Authority with PKI products and services being offered under the Comtrust brand.
Mr.Hashim added, 'Organizations in the Middle East are now moving to a best practices approach that can enhance customer satisfaction but be highly secure and cost effective. Etisalat is best poised to exploit this opportunity because of its status as a Certification Authority whereby it can enable authenticated, sensitive transactions which can be trusted by all parties. Regulatory requirements from financial institutions and demand for safeguarding sensitive communication is also forcing more UAE companies to adopt PKI based solutions'.
Etisalat PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) solutions offer Etisalat digital certificates with third-party technologies to enable enterprises to adopt eBusiness securely. One such example is Secur*Access.
Secur*Access is a flexible tool for not only authenticating individuals based on digital certificates but also allowing access rights for corporate network users in accordance with the policy implemented.
It allows organizations to interact in a secure manner with users of its corporate network, enabling only the authenticated users to access businesses resources.
