Royal Jet sets up Emiratisation Internship Programme
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, March 22 - 2008 at 11:14
- PRESS RELEASE
Royal Jet, the international luxury flight services company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, is to offer Emirati students the chance to gain work experience across the business over the coming months.
Amna Saif Al Mansouri, Royal Jet's Vice President of Human Resources and Administration, explained that the programme came about as a direct result of the company's commitment to Emiratisation and offering graduating students the chance to learn valuable skills and get real-world work experience within the aviation industry. "We will provide training for them in order to open up new horizons - not just within this company, but with other organisations working within the aviation sector.
"Already, Royal Jet employs over 44 qualified Emiratis in a number of key departments including finance, human resources, IT, engineering and flight crew. And while students receive practical experience, Royal Jet will also benefit from the skills and assistance of the intern students, and we may also evaluate them first-hand as possible future employees," she said.
"Royal Jet continues to enjoy an exponential increase in new business, and this programme could well help the company in the fulfilment of its future staffing needs. It will offer students periods of between one and three months continuously, whilst the maximum number of interns will be ten students per season from universities and colleges throughout the UAE.
"It also has the full personal support of our chairman His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan who is taking a keen interest in its implementation," she added.
The Human Resources and Administration Department has already invited local universities and colleges to nominate their students for participation.
