UAE to spend $4.4bn on infrastructure

The UAE has announced plans to spend Dhs16bn ($4.4bn) on infrastructure projects in the Northern Emirates, reported state-owned Emirates News Agency (Wam). Ordered by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the funds will be used to construct roads, new housing communities, a drainage network and other projects. The Northern Emirates consist of Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al-Kaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al-Qaiwain.
