Tanmia signs MoU with Emirates University to provide training and employment to National students

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority, has announced the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates University at AL Ain Career Fair to provide training and employment opportunities for the UAE National students and graduates of the university.
Emirates University will share with Tanmia, information and data relevant to National students enrolled with it, and will specifically provide information on students who are keen to find training and job opportunities.
Tanmia will recommend students from Emirates University registered in its database, as jobseekers for employment and training opportunities available in the UAE, and will invite these students to attend various career fairs organised by Tanmia to showcase job opportunities in private and public sector organisations in the country.
The universities on their part will utilise all available means to inform its students of such fairs and exhibitions.
"We are pleased to sign MoU with a leading university in the UAE that share our vision of maximising employment opportunities for UAE Nationals. We will make the best use of our resources to facilitate training of National students and make them well-prepared for successfully handling the requirements of today's dynamic corporate environment," said Ahmad Al-Ahmadi, Manager, Tanmia Office in Dubai.
"UAE Nationals have proven their ability and skill in various demanding roles in the private and public sector, and a growing number of companies in the UAE are now taking measures to increase the number of Nationals in their workforce. By working together with university, we will be able to create a larger pool of qualified and trained UAE Nationals who are fully equipped to take up challenging responsibilities at the workplace," he added.
Tanmia will also provide the Emirates University with career guidance information and materials to raise students' awareness about recent developments in the UAE labour market and the requirements of the job market.

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority in the UAE, was established by a Presidential decree in November 1999, to address the imbalance in the labour market, due to excessive dependence on expatriate workforce. Tanmia is engaged in a coordinating role, between national job seekers and employers in the private and government sectors, to facilitate increased entry of nationals in the labour market. The responsibilities that rest with the Authority are: to set up the overall policy of the Authority and supervise its implementation, conduct sustained operational and administrative labour market studies and analysis, provide career counseling and guidance to the national work force, follow-up and evaluate employment of nationals in public and private sectors, support small investment enterprises through the establishment of self-employment projects for national human resources and develop programmes for training and qualifying nationals seeking employment, in conformity with the labour market needs.
