The latest addition to the Abu Dhabi Police fleet was presented by the UAE capital's Nissan dealer Al Masaood Automobiles as part of the ongoing cooperation between Nissan Middle East and its dealers with the nation's law enforcement agencies.

Speaking at a reception to mark the handover of the vehicle, Major General Saeed Obaid Al Mazroui, Deputy Commander-In-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, emphasised the importance of community partnerships and the valued contribution of the private sector.

The new Xterra will go on active duty with the Abu Dhabi traffic police.

Abdul Ilah Wazni, SUV Brand Manager at Nissan Middle East said ' Xterra is being well-received by police forces and government departments not only in the UAE but across the Gulf as well'.

'The Nissan Xterra has carved out a unique position in the marketplace as a no-frills off-road adventure vehicle that is also not afraid of hard work. It has all the rugged and reliable features essential for public service duties, such as its functional interior and advanced off-road capabilities. This makes the Xterra the perfect companion for police officers during their day to day duties,'

added Wazni.

The new 2008 model was launched towards the end of last year and features an abundance of useable space, unique styling, storage and convenience. Its rugged platform and 291-horsepower is generated by a 4.0-litre DOHC V6 engine. In combination with well-planned interior storage systems, the Xterra is ideal for police and traffic operations.
