Emarat hosts training sessions on food safety for Bakeria employees

Over 400 employees working at Emarat's Bakeria outlets in various service stations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, attended sessions in coordination with the SGS institution, accredited by the Dubai Municipality.

As part of the various training programs offered by Emarat to its employees, the corporation recently organized a number of training sessions focusing on food safety principles and concepts.

According to Dr. Mohammed Bu Qufell, Manager Career Development at Emarat, the program has been designed to enhance individual as well as team performance. This was mainly carried out through practical exercises supported by colored brochures used by participants as references.

He indicated that the program aims at assisting food outlets employees satisfy the requirements of the national food safety legislations. Another objective was to raise awareness for food safety and avoid any cases of food poisoning.

The program also aimed at enhancing the capabilities of employees in applying food safety measures and special procedures. This is in addition to developing their skills in foodstuff and raising their health consciousness.

He said that the food safety program is considered one of the best designed programs for front office employees working in Emarat's food outlets. He believed that food poisoning is the result of neglecting health rules and conditions. This is why the majority of health experts believe that the best way to avoid food poisoning is through the proper education of the employees working in the field and their familiarization with the basic knowledge about food safety.

He indicated that the program focused on a number of areas, including food poisoning. It also dwelled on bacteria, prevention methods of poisoning, prevention of food contamination, personal hygiene, and the requirements for a healthy food outlet, including cleanliness and sanitization.
