Career Workshop at UD

The University of Dubai (UD) has conducted a workshop on the requirements and procedures for obtaining employment in the UAE job market.

It is one of a series of workshops that aim to enhance students' career development for the academic year 2007/2008.

The workshop discussed a number of subjects that are essential for professional careers, such as the proper method of utilizing hiring agencies, a résumé's essential and personal content, best techniques for employment seekers while appearing for interviews and general guidelines for obtaining a job in the UAE. Mr. Saad Ibrahim Abbas, HR Consultant, sketched a number of guidelines and suggestions for professional careers, once students graduate.

Students and faculty members were impressed by this workshop, which they deemed as necessary, especially for those who are about to graduate, since it gave them an opportunity to chose the best methods for matching jobs with skills.

Ms. Amina Al Marzak, UD Internship and Development Center, stated that University of Dubai concerned in making this workshop a success that is considered as a first stage to provide job opportunities in different fields for all the undergraduate students. All this effort put in is to complete the university's task by fully training the students and preparing them academically.
