'The Dragon', launched at Wafi Rooftop Gardens, features a unique, adjustable 20.1-inch display, the very latest graphics and audio technology and high performance Intel dual-core processors, the notebook is the perfect solution for entertainment enthusiasts and those who demand a fully featured, design leading PC.

High definition television, movies and games come alive on the notebook's expansive 20.1-inch display. As HP's largest widescreen notebook PC, consumers can enjoy a premium entertainment experience, with a screen that rivals many televisions.

Elena Danici, Category Manager Consumer Products, PSG, HP Middle East, commented:

'The launch of the HP Pavilion HDX Notebook represents HP's commitment to providing consumers with innovative notebooks to suit their complex lifestyles. Personal Computers are now increasingly used as entertainment centres, 'The Dragon' has been designed to offer consumers a complete package for premium home theatre and high performance computing, wrapped up in a sleek and stylish design'.

Ergonomically designed to provide complete comfort, the dual hinge panel design enables users to tilt the screen into a range of positions, whether its a standard upright position for working and gaming or reclined for watching TV and DVDs with others.

With HP BrightView technology content is more vibrant than ever before with richer colours and outstanding clarity.

For a true home theatre experience HP QuickPlay TV and DVD launches movies, television programmes and music at the touch of a button. An integrated HP Digital TV tuner converts the PC into a mobile TV or PVR allowing users to watch, record and pause live TV from anywhere in the house.

In addition, an optional HD-DVD drive plays the latest HD-DVD movies in astounding high definition quality.

The compact media centre remote controls the notebook from across the room for further convenience and discretely docks into the notebook for easy storage. With HP Theatre Mode consumers can also lower the illumination features of the notebook with a single touch of a button, eliminating distracting lights and further enhancing entertainment.

Hi-fidelity audio, courtesy of four Altec Lansing speakers and a HP Triple Bass Reflex Subwoofer completes the audio visual experience with immersive and booming sound.

For hard core gamers the latest ATI Mobility Radeon graphics processor brings games to life with a new level of detail and enhanced visual effects.

As an extension of the HP Imprint Design, the notebook features HP's recognised high-gloss piano black finish, complementing the entire notebook, desktop and monitor line-up. With a unique new Imprint pattern, entitled 'Dragon', the notebook has a fresh and contemporary feel and is aligned in style with the latest luxury consumer accessories.

The HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Notebook PC boasts all the power and features of a desktop PC in a stylish and transportable package. Consumers can work or enjoy entertainment from any room in the house whilst still retaining the feel of a desktop PC, with a full-size keyboard, including a separate numeric keypad.

The notebook's spacious widescreen display has been purposefully designed to complement the latest Microsoft Windows Vista Premium software, allowing the toolbar to sit discretely to the side of the screen. The generous display also makes multitasking easy; users can work from multiple windows and applications simultaneously, viewing word documents and spreadsheets side by side or browsing the internet whilst building playlists.

Whether chatting with friends and family or high speed networking, it couldn't be easier to connect to others with a Gigabit Ethernet, adjustable webcam and two dual-array microphones.

Webcam images are notably clearer and brighter thanks to low-light image technology and improved synchronisation between images and audio transmission, making communication smoother and easier.

Devoted gamers can also take on opponents across the world, joining virtual communities and even chatting via VoIP.

The notebook also boasts a range of next-generation features; a 3GB eSATA port provides high speed external hard drive access.

A biometric integrated fingerprint scanner also gives users quick and easy access to the PC and makes remembering passwords a thing of the past. When the PC is shared with others, an unlimited number of fingerprint passwords can be assigned to personal files, emails and preset preferences.
