The annual Forum involving various regional special needs centers is organized in a different GCC country every year. The Forum now in its eighth year integrates the knowledge and talent of experts, professionals and other caregivers.
TECOM Investments participation in the forum titled 'Disability and its related services', confirms the support and dedication towards Dubai's efforts to integrate individuals with special needs into the mainstream of society.
Last year TECOM Investments worked closely with Takamul, the apex body for people with special needs, to identify ways to better facilitate disabled people.
As part of the interaction, employees of TECOM Investments also received training on accommodating people with special needs in the workplace.
Also in 2007 a selected number of individuals with special needs were provided with summer training for two months.
Abdullatif AlMulla, CEO of TECOM Investments said:
'We are pleased to support the forum and any cause that advances the agenda on special needs. At TECOM Investments, we promote a positive attitude to people with special needs by bringing them to the forefront where their strengths and talents can be recognized and implemented within an organization'.
'This forum highlights challenges faced by people with special needs and their families. Experts in this field will shed light on solutions that can improve the lives of people with special needs. The support of TECOM Investments to the event showcases our commitment to activities that contribute positively to enhancing the quality of life in the community'.
