- PRESS RELEASE
AXA Insurance & the General Organisation for Youth and Sports Bahrain (GOYS) have launched the Be Life Confident Challenge that will take place in Bahrain from April 10th - April 17th 2008.
The challenge is being done to promote Bahrain's beautiful coastline and also to promote water activities with the youth to encourage them to Be Life confident and confront their fears.
In order to build up to the 'Be Life Confident Challenge' the actual kayak is displayed at Seef Mall near entrance 1. Visitors to the stall can photograph themselves next to the kayak and the best photograph will be signed by the explorer himself and one winner will get the chance to kayak beside Mark for a while during the challenge.
Mark Evans will explore the coast of Bahrain starting from the Marina Club area on April 10th going on to Durrat, around the Hawar islands and then to Buddaya along the north coast to Manama. As the kayak is silent and non-polluting it will enable Mark to get close to all sorts of marine and other wildlife. Subject to weather conditions, the expedition is to span a period of one week and is scheduled to end around April 17th.
Says His Royal Highness Sheikh Abdulla Bin Rashid Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa of GOYS, "We want the youth to go back to water sports, to confront their fears and challenge themselves to do things out of the ordinary. We hope that this trip with Mark will encourage them to revisit the waters around Bahrain".
Says Steve Wagstaff, Country Manager, AXA Insurance Bahrain, "We are proud to sponsor Mark as he sets forth to conquer the seas and kayak around the Bahrain coast. It is truly a beautiful coastline and we wish him all the best in his perilous journey around the coast".
