'Rally Guide 2' is an official document required by the FIA and it is packed with information on the event relevant to teams, officials, spectators and general rally fans alike. It gives the closest insight yet into what can be expected when the World Rally Championship (WRC) arrives in the Arab World for the first time since Morocco in 1976.
The document, which can be downloaded and printed from www.jordanrally.com and the 'rally guide 2' link (www.jordanrally.com/static/competitors5.shtm), contains maps of where the three days of action will be running through as well as spectator information, details of ceremonies as well as comprehensive information on what is happening, where and when. The document is a one-stop reference guide for anyone involved with the event, particularly the teams.
'Rally Guide 2 is the document that teams, officials, media and spectators from across the world will be referring to in the run up to the event and I am delighted with the quality and depth of information put together by our team,' said HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, Chairman of Jordan Motorsport, which manages and organises the event. 'In order to gain the trust and confidence of the FIA WRC family, it is important that our paperwork matches the physical work that has been done on the stages and Rally Guide 2 underlines our ability once again.'
New spectator areas have been identified for the Jordan Rally WRC and in two weeks time another vital document, the Media Safety Plan, will be available to media with advice and information on how best to maximise their time in Jordan covering the event.
This weekend, the world's attention turns to Argentina for round four of the 2008 Championship before the focus switches to Jordan. Argentina's stages reach as high as 2,200m above sea level and will offer a different proposition to the many stages that run below sea level in Jordan in a month's time.
The 2008 Championship has already visited Monte Carlo, Sweden and Mexico prior to this week's long haul to Argentina. All the superstars of the sport, including four-time world champion Sebastian Loeb and 2003 World Champion Petter Solberg, will be competing in the region for the first time.
The Jordan Rally WRC, which has received extensive support locally and boasts Jordanian Duty Free as its Gold Sponsor, will be launched with a glittering opening ceremony on April 24 before the action unravels on almost 350 kms of technical and twisty stages over the next three days.
Jordan Rally WRC guide published online
Organisers of the 2008 Jordan Rally WRC, which takes place from April 24-27, have marked the 'one month to go' milestone by publishing a Rally Guide on line for fans of the event from across the world.
