  • Saudi Arabia: Saturday, March 29 - 2008 at 08:19

Experts in Saudi Arabia said that lifting the ban on women driving in the country would lift the Saudi economy as well, cited Arab News. A report by Saudi Aramco noted that car ownership among Saudi women climbed to 60% between 2003 and 2006, taking the total number of automobiles owned by Saudi women to 120,334. Saudi car industry owners said the ban would also open new different markets to cater to women, once the ban is lifted.
