Conducted by a team of highly qualified telecommunications experts from Umniah, these lectures served to shed light on the company's innovative services and more specifically on Umniah's UMAX service, which is the first of its type to be launched in Jordan.

Throughout these lectures, Umniah's team lectured university students about internet connectivity in general and the important role the internet plays in everyone's day-to-day lives.

The lectures proceeded on to clarify the difference between WiFi and UMAX connectivity, and explained in detail about the UMAX service features offered by Umniah specifically.

With an open invitation for all university students, the lectures were conducted with a large student base attending, who also took the opportunity to ask questions about Umniah's services and products.

'Our decision to host these lectures is one that comes in line with our efforts to elevate educational standards within Jordanian universities.' explained Umniah's CEO Mr. Joseph Hanania.

'We at Umniah have solidified our commitment to elevating levels of social development by being the first to introduce the UMAX technology in Jordan, accordingly, we believe that by arming students with the information they need about the new telecommunications technologies available in the market we are doing our part to enrich their ICT knowledge and develop their skills.

The students of today are the telecommunications service users and experts of tomorrow and in a market filled with competition and change it is our duty to arm them with the tools they need to play an active role within Jordan's booming ICT sector'.

It is important to note that the UMAX service is designed to effectively replace the traditional cables or DSL.

UMAX works with the wireless broadband technology.

It transmits data from one computer to another, using encoded radio waves and then to personal computers over long distances that could reach 15 kilometers with a speed that reaches 2 megabit/second.

This service allows users to make VoIP calls while also receiving and sending large multimedia files at exponential rates and is expected to significantly increase Internet penetration rates in the long run.

The UMAX service is currently available in all Umniah selling points as well as UMAX authorized partner - Batelco Jordan and UMAX authorized dealers -Swiftel, Telemax, and Al-Kahlout.
