A 12-day workshop for TV journalists covering all aspects of broadcast journalism, including effective handling of critical equipment, concluded at Dubai Press Club.

Organized by Dubai Press Club, the workshop was formatted on the lines of its previous edition held last year by Al Arabiya news channel.
Maryam bin Fahad, Executive Director of the Dubai Press Club, said: "These training courses help to put into practice theories gained in the classroom. It also helps to put together creative footages that are open to candid critical analysis. The highly competitive environment in which the media currently operates validates the need for such training courses that also help strengthen the journalists' depth of professionalism and objectivity.
"Through such specialized training workshops, we seek to help journalists develop their abilities and update them on latest developments taking place around the world".
Dubai Press Club organises periodic training workshops for journalists on wide ranging topics to expand their knowledge base and enhance their professional skills.
In November 2007, it held a six day training workshop on radio reporting and programming in partnership with Radio France Internationale, Paris, a leading publicly funded European broadcaster, and the French Embassy in the UAE.
Earlier, it held a three day workshop for business journalists in collaboration with Dow Jones Newswires.
