ITA supports HCT - IT Open Day for students

The Information Technology Authority of Oman supports the IT Open day students' festival of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT).
During this open day several activities for students, educators and professionals from both public and private sector organizations are held to continually promote excellence and to keep abreast with the advances in Information Technology. The event will eventually foster an open and fruitful relationship with participating companies and institutions.
The highlights of the Open Day will include a technology exhibition with interactive forum for product demonstration, technical sessions conducted by invited IT professionals and experts from industries, interactive sessions between IT industry and academia, projects presentation by selected HCT-IT students and a thrilling Quiz competition.
"ITA is supporting this student gathering to motivate and inspire them about the potential of technology in general and e-services in particular", said Dr. Salim Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA. "We believe in the potentials of our students in transforming the nation into a knowledge economy and constantly strive to provide opportunities for their betterment. We bring higher levels of knowledge and awareness towards the national IT plan and the progress made through several projects through our participation and we are glad to be associated with the Higher Colleges of Technology in this students' open day", he added.
ITA's team will present a range of activities including presentations on e-Oman initiatives, ITA vision, mission and key projects in this event. They will create opportunity for direct interaction with students, engage them and educate them to use electronic services. They will also utilise the open day to conduct survey on the students' awareness of ITA, e-Oman initiatives, availability of Internet services, demographics and IT knowledge. Several raffle draws will be held as part the activities to refresh the students and entertain them educatively.
