Tameer President named as finalist for Ernst & Young Middle East Entrepreneur of the Year 2007

Mr. Omar Ayesh, President of Tameer Holding, the Middle East's leading real estate developer has been selected as one of the finalists for the Ernst & Young Middle East Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 Award in recognition of his outstanding success as a business leader.
The award ceremony was held in Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, and marked the highpoint of three days of celebrations during which the 18 business leaders were invited to Dubai and given the opportunity to present their entrepreneurial success stories to a panel of independent distinguished judges. They were then assessed based on the criteria of entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic direction, global impact, innovation, personal integrity and influence. The candidates were from Bahrain, KSA, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman and Lebanon.
Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Omar Ayesh, President of Tameer, said: "I am thrilled to be nominated as one of the best business leaders in the Middle East. It is a great honour to receive the recognition from Ernst & Young, a world renowned consulting firm with a great reputation. Such an award is quality recognition not only for my personal achievements but for the success of Tameer family."
He added, "I thank God that as it is such a great privilege to be honored as a business leader. I also give thanks for the spirit of cooperation we at Tameer have which significantly contributed in making our achievements noticeable. I would like to seize this opportunity and extend my heartfelt gratitude to Ernst & Young for their initiative in honoring the business leaders in the region, as well as giving them the opportunity to compete with international business leaders especially that our achievements in the business world do exceed sometimes the international ones."
The judges assessed the series of accomplishments and milestones achieved by the UAE-based company within a short span of time which has been distinguished by the quality of its projects. Tameer has been a leader in the expansion into new markets, and has already announced numerous groundbreaking megaprojects in various countries.
Tameer has developed a long term visionary strategy in the local and international markets, with a special focus on offering luxurious property units at competitive prices to reach different income groups. Tameer is distinguished by its modern and state of the art designs and finishing's, securing the company's leading position in the regional real estate markets.
The Entrepreneur awards program was created in 1986, and is produced and organized by Professional of the Year services firm Ernst & Young. As the first award of its kind, the Ernst & Award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic and growing businesses. The program, honors entrepreneurs through regional, national and global award programs in over 135 cities and 50 countries.
Ernst & Young launched of the Middle East Entrepreneur of the Year Award program last year. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be an owner/manager who is primarily responsible for the recent performance of a privately held business. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as financial performance, innovation, initiatives, ingenuity and perseverance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. The program seeks to honour entrepreneurs whose ingenuity and perseverance have created and sustained successful, growing business ventures.
