- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, March 01 - 2008 at 11:25
- PRESS RELEASE
Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) recently met with a delegation from Sharjah Businesswomen's Council (SBC) in the department headquarters.
Al Mahmoud thanked the delegation for their steady efforts to deliver the required level of service and support to women-owned businesses, and for their continuous striving to provide all the necessary information and tools that could help these projects succeed.
Al Mahmoud gave detailed answers to a number of enquires from members of the delegation, listened to their proposals, suggestions and comments, and confirmed the Department's willingness to offer all the support necessary to the council and to address any problems that may occur.
A number of issues of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting, including ways to improve procedures for obtaining permits to practice home-based economic activities, a licenses category recently issued by the Department.
Finding ways to maximize coordination between the department and the council was one of the main points of focus during the meeting. The proposals included providing advice and consultations to the affiliated businesswomen, assisting them with their enquiries, and arranging presentations for affiliated businesswomen to view the Department's procedures for issuing licenses for practicing economic activity, its terms and conditions and their rights and duties.
Among the suggestions was one which presented the possibility of linking the council's website with the SEDD's website to facilitate the delivery of information to all the affiliated members of the Sharjah Businesswomen Council.
