YAL-Kuwait invites Dr. Saad Al- Barrak to share his experiences with Arab young leaders

Young Arab Leaders (YAL)-Kuwait Chapter announced that it will set up its first annual meeting after last year's chapter initiative launch, to attract new interested members who will have an opportunity to meet Dr. Saad Al-Barrak to hear his experiences while growing up and to expand entrepreneurial business skills to the Kuwaiti community.

This year's main sponsors for the event are Global Investment House, Zain, and KAMCO, co-sponsors are Gulf Franchising Company and Al Babtain Library. Participating the event are Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman Chair of YAL board and Zain's Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Saad H. Al-Barrak, who will talk about his experiences of becoming a successful businessman.

It is worth noting that the most important objectives of Young Arab Leaders is to expand their members to 500 by applying its various strategies to all its targeted sectors.

YAL's annual meeting is aimed to create opportunities in education, leadership, and entrepreneurship. This involves regional and global companies and aims towards encouraging the standardization and coordinated efforts through the mobilization of internship and training opportunities.

It is worth mentioning, that the Young Arab leaders (YAL) was launched in February 2004 by young Arab men and women who are ambitious personalities able to reach high levels of success in their lives. The Board of Trustees includes Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and the Hashemite King Abdullah, King of Jordan.

The regional executive board consist of Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman Chair of YAL board, Governor- Dubai International Financial, Dr. Bassem Awadallah Director- Office of HM King Abdullah II of Jordan, Mr. Elias Bou Saab, Executive Vice President- American University of Dubai, and Mr. Hani Al Zubair- Managing Director- The Zubair Corporation, Oman.

Each year a YAL chapter country hosts the annual forum for the young Arab leaders. In addition to the Annual Forums, are the Global Action Forums that take place in Europe, Asia and the U.S. Most recent, was the Arab American Dialogue Forum held in New York in March and the Arab European Dialogue Forum held in Berlin last November.

In the past two years YAL have been sponsoring educational programs, Such as the 'Internship Exchange' and the 'Arab American Fellowship' program. The programs allow Arab students to participate in internship opportunities in multinational corporations, in Europe, Asia and most recently in the Middle East in order to foster the mutual understanding and respect between the two different societies.

On the other side, YAL- Kuwait includes, Mrs. Al-Ghunaim; Dr. Rola Dashti Chairperson Kuwait Economic Society & FARO International Co., Mr. Fareed Al-Fozan Vice Chairman Gulf Group Holding Company, Mr. Ayad Al-Khorafi Chairman Scientific Club, Ms. Rana Al-Khalid Director, Private Equity NBK Capital, Mr. Ali Al-Rashed Member of Kuwait's National Assembly, and Ms. Dana Al-Sabah Chairperson American University of Kuwait (AUK) Board of Trustees.

The organization nominates its members from every part of the Arab world and selected from a myriad of disciplines and sectors, including business, politics, media, culture, science and civil society. Hence, in 2005, the Kuwait branch founded in Kuwait, aims to focus on educational programs and initiatives for the development of the local community.

Currently YAL launch initiated with opening seven chapters in the Arab region. Regional branches are currently located in Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, and the UAE, Palestine.
