Assem O. Kabesh appointed CEO of Young Arab Leaders

The Young Arab Leaders (YAL), the region's foremost development platform for business, public sector and civil society leaders in the Middle East, today announced the appointment of Assem O. Kabesh as the CEO of YAL.

Assem is a senior management professional with 20 years experience in international and regional organisations, he has exceptional leadership skills and executive strategic business development plans.

He has the ability to combine expert visionary, strategic, and tactical expertise to produce quality driven products, services and processes.

Prior to his appointment at YAL, Assem was the Managing Director - DIFC Authority and Member of the Board at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Assem's experience has been varied and extensive. As the former Director of Sales at Dubai Internet city, he played a key role in developing, implementing and reviewing the sales strategy for one of Dubai's greatest success stories. Today, this state-of-art business park is home to many fortune 500 technology firms such as Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Sony Ericsson, Cisco, and Dell.

Prior to this, he worked with Mashreqbank as Assistant Vice President for Retail Banking. He began his career with American Express of Egypt

Educated in Egypt, USA and the United Kingdom. Assem holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Bradford University in the U.K and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the American University of Cairo.
