Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Africa appoints Christian Grage as the Vice President Operations and Human Resources

Christian Grage, will be based in Cairo and will assume all Operations and Human Resources responsibility for all Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts properties in: Egypt, Morocco, Mauritius, Tanzania and Tunisia as well as any future projects in Africa.

Grage is a German national and veteran hotelier, who brings a wealth of experience to the Swiss domiciled, international hotel chain.

He was trained at the Swiss Hotel Association from 1994 to1995, where he gained the SHV Certified Diploma.

Over the following twenty years, Grage gained experience in all areas of hospitality from the kitchens to corporate operations.

This led to senior positions with global operator on three continents where his entrepreneurial and interpersonal skills helped him conquer wide-ranging operational and cultural challenges.

Prior joining Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Grage held the position of General Manager of the landmark five-star Corinthia Towers Hotel, Prague, Czech Republic since February 2003.

In addition he had regional co-ordination responsibilities for the Corinthia Hotels in Czech Republic. Grage had been General Manager of the Corinthia Panorama Hotel, a superior leisure-oriented hotel which also located in the capital, Prague.

Grage now returns to Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, having been with the chain in: Beijing, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Germany.

With German as his mother tongue, Grage is fluent in English, speaks basic Spanish and knows the common courtesies in Arabic, Chinese and Czech.

Adding to his expertise in the hospitality business, he was also the Founder and President of La Chaine des Rotisseurs, Czech Republic, moreover, with his extensive multinational experience, he became an occasional guest speaker at the NYU for Hospitality and Tourism, based in New York.
