USAID signs a MoU with Irbid Chamber of Industry

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Mr. Jay Knot visited the location of Al Huson Career Development Center (CDC), a center funded by USAID/SABEQ located at Al Huson University College in Irbid.

    The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Mr. Jay Knot visited the location of Al Huson Career Development Center (CDC), a center funded by USAID/SABEQ located at Al Huson University College in Irbid.
The CDC team presented CDC's main objectives, achievements and work plan.

Commenting on the CDC center, Mr. Jay Knott stated "This center was created to empower students at every stage of their career development process in order to achieve their educational, professional, and career goals." He then added "our mission is to enhance student's awareness of the skills and competencies needed to explore career opportunities, experience professional employment and achieve success in their careers."

Jame' Ahmad a sophomore student at AlHuson University College said: "this center helps students and alumni to understand the relationship between the university experience and future professional roles." He added "We thank USAID/SABEQ for catering to our needs"

In parallel to CDC's visit, USAID through SABEQ program represented by its Chief of Party Mr. Rodrigo Ortiz, and Irbid Chamber of industry represented by President, Mr. Raed Samara, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a strategic plan and organizational structure for the Chamber and enhance the services offered through the Chamber of Industry. The MoU was signed in the attendance of USAID Mission Director Mr. Jay Knott at Irbid Chamber of Industry.

The USAID-funded Sustainable Achievement of Business Expansion and Quality Program (SABEQ) is a five year broad economic development initiative implemented by BearingPoint, Inc. and a sizeable team of international and Jordanian partner firms. By both supporting improvements in the business environment and providing assistance to expand innovation and productivity in Jordanian businesses, SABEQ's four components all support the common objective of building up the private sector—Jordan's companies, innovators and entrepreneurs—as a powerful engine of economic growth.
