GHEDEX to host the largest representation of UK varsities

A gateway to pursue higher education opportunities, the Gulf Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) showcases a wide array of diverse international study options in higher education for students, young professionals and academic organizations from Oman and the Gulf region.

The event would be supported by the British Council who has been associated with it since its advent. This annual event would take place this year from the 7th to 9th of April, 2008 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, Seeb and would be organized by a big name in the event management business, Oman International Trade & Exhibitions (OITE) which has been in the scene for over two decades.

A very popular event with the public, GHEDEX 2008 would bring to the fore a lot of foreign universities, the majority of which are from the United Kingdom comprising of 34 institutions, some of which are University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, University of Hull, University of Manchester, University of Exeter, University of Leeds, University of Portsmouth, University of Greenwich, University of Bradford, Cardiff University, University of Glasgow, University of Kent among others.

'This year we've had even more institutions signing up and expect it to be a full house', said Mr. Saif Al Riyami, Project Sales Executive - GHEDEX, OITE.

At GHEDEX 2008, signed in as platinum and visitor bag sponsor is DAAD, signed in as platinum sponsors are Majan College - University college, German University of Technology in Oman, Sohar University, Ajman University of Science & Technology, Study in Holland, Arab Open University, Oman Tourism College, Study in Australia and College of Banking and Financial Studies. Signed in as gold sponsors are Dhofar University, Caledonian College of Engineering, Waljat Colleges of Applied Sciences and Sultan Qaboos University and signed in as silver sponsor is Abu Dhabi University.
