Klaus Kulman, General Manager, Lindner Depa Interiors said:
'We are delighted to be involved with this exciting project and with the fantastic start to our strategic partnership, which brings together Depa's market know-how and first-class track record and Lindner's well-established expertise in the field of complex interior fit-out. We believe this will be the first of many major contract wins in our target markets.'
Lindner Depa was formed between Depa, the largest interior contracting company in the Middle East, and Lindner Group, a leading interior contractor in Europe, in December 2007. The new company consolidates Depa's leading position in the Middle East and North Africa and broadens its services to include airports and hospitals.
Dubai Metro is Lindner Depa's first contract award and involves the complete fit-out of the Red Line's 13 stations from Jebel Ali Port, along Sheikh Zayed Road, Burjuman, Al Rigga, Dubai International Airport and ending at Rashidiya. The Red Line project involves fitting out ceilings, wall claddings and floor finishes.
Lindner Depa will fit out high-end designs developed by KCA International, a UK-headquartered design firm and designers of the iconic Burj Al-Arab with whom Depa has a strong working relationship.
The Dubai Metro contract win is in line with Lindner Depa's strategy of focusing primarily on the UAE in its first year of operation, followed by regional expansion throughout the Middle East in 2009 and 2010. The company also has medium term plans for the development of its business in South Asia.
