- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 02 - 2008 at 09:49
- PRESS RELEASE
Al Diar Siji Hotel, a 5-star business hotel managed by Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) is all set in its bid to boost the Emirate of Fujairah as alternative venue for banqueting and conferencing events as it participates in the GIBTM (Gulf Incentive Business Travel & Meeting Exhibition).
"We will be promoting Al Diar Siji Hotel and Fujairah not only for tourism activities but also as an ideal destination for banquets and conferences", explained Mr. Fouad Melhem, the hotel's General Manager.
Al Diar Siji Hotel offers one of the largest conference and banqueting rooms in the region which has played host to the 5th Fujairah International Bunkering & Fuel Oil Forum with 200 delegates from 30 countries last year.
The hotel's conference facilities include the Masafi Ballroom which features sound-proof foldable walls and can accommodate up to 500 guests for banquet and up to 700 guests for cocktails. Siji also boasts of the Al Majlis Executive Lounge which is fully-equipped with amenities for small and private meetings. The hotel also houses an Auditorium ideal for video and film viewing, as well as for seminars and trainings with its seats fitted with foldable arm suitable for writing. The Auditorium has a seating capacity of more than a hundred and is equipped with high-end LCD projector, wide screen and audio equipments.
Meantime, Fujairah as an Emirate is already an internal tourist destination among UAE residents especially during holidays with its sandy beaches, springs, Hajar Mountains and historic sites. Fujairah has experienced rapid growth and developments in terms of infrastructure, economy and tourism in recent years. These developments have also brought about increase in the number of tourists not only from within the UAE but from other countries. In fact, there has been an increase in flow of tourists from Europe coming to the East Coast.
"Siji Hotel has also witnessed this increase in foreign tourists and it is one of the factors for the surge in occupany rates of the hotel last year. However, Fujairah also has a big potential in terms of hosting banquets and conferences. As more and more developments happen in Fujairah including the Dubai-Fujairah highway which once finished will cut the travel time between the two Emirates to just 45 minutes, with its mountains, waterfalls, and long beaches, not to mention the other hotels opening soon, Fujairah will be the next best alternative conferencing and banqueting destination in the UAE," concluded Mr. Melhem.
