Inflation in ME to hit 8%, says IMF

Dr Mohsin S. Khan, International Monetary Fund (IMF) director of the Middle East and Central Asia, said inflation in the Gulf could climb to 8% this year, up from 7% last year due to rising rents, food prices and public spending, reported Khaleej Times. Speaking at a conference on 'GCC oil boom and its impact', Khan urged the members of the GCC to retain their dollar pegs at the same rates for the time being.
