Investcorp to host Annual Private Equity Investors Conference
- Bahrain: Wednesday, April 02 - 2008 at 15:04
- PRESS RELEASE
Investcorp, a leading provider and manager of alternative investment products is to host a private equity conference exclusive to its private and institutional investors.
The conference will be attended by over 100 investors, Investcorp professionals, leading economic experts and chief executive officers of Investcorp portfolio companies. The guest speaker is Dr. Larry Lindsey, Chairman of the Lindsey Group, formerly a policy advisor to President Bush, a staff member for President Reagan's Council of Economic Advisers and a Governor of the Federal Reserve.
"This conference is taking place at a time when global markets have been experiencing significant turmoil," said Gary Long, Investcorp's President and Chief Operating Officer.
"There are people who are betting on the extinction of the private equity industry, but we see no evidence of this. Even with so much uncertainty over the past few months Investcorp's fundraising from its clients has remained robust. Over the past 25 years, Investcorp has been a pioneer among the world's private equity houses, and we firmly believe that not only will the private equity asset class continue to grow, but Investcorp will continue to deliver superior, top-quartile returns to our investors".
The invitation only conference will address current market conditions, look at past, present and forecast private equity trends in the United States and Europe, and review the performance of selected Investcorp portfolio companies.
One of the sessions will be hosted by Narv Narvekar, Vice President of Columbia Investment Management Company, who is responsible for overseeing Columbia University's $4.3bn endowment. Other sessions will be led by chief executive officers from two of Investcorp's current portfolio of companies - Brendan Connolly from Moody International and Andrew Berlin from Berlin Packaging - who will discuss the advantages of implementing Investcorp's rigorous pre- and post-acquisition processes and unique private equity 'value enhancement model'.
